In this Fit Minute Friday segment, Nancy shows you how to get a great cardio workout without jumping.  Often people think that you need to own fancy gym equipment in order to get a great workout in.  Untrue!  You can get a high intensity cardio workout without equipment and without impact. This move is a squat side kick.  Hold your arms straight out in front of you.  To perform a proper squat it is necessary to have your feet shoulder width apart.  Release your hips and stick your butt out as if you are reaching back for a chair to sit on. Squat down as low as you are able without going below a 90 degree angle. Come back up and kick your right leg out to the side, repeat the squat and kick with your left leg.  You can perform this move for one minute.  Can you feel your heart pumping?!  If you want to work a little harder, extend your arms over your head.  Continue the same move, alternating the side kicks.  Raising your arms above your head increases the demand on your heart by about 20%.  You can combine this move with a few others to complete a great cardio workout without any impact on your joints!  #FitMinute
